Salone 2016 – Starring the seating specialist

At this edition of Salone del Mobile, Frag once again imposes itself as the interpreter of a basic yet sophisticated style aiming at making a great visual impact, the perfect synthesis between aesthetic and functional factors. The company opens this year’s exhibition by presenting its new location inside PAV. 20, STAND C8 – C10 with a larger exposition space, while also confirming some valuable collaborations. For the sixth year in a row, in fact, the setting up was signed by Ferruccio Laviani and once again astonished everyone thanks to its discreet elegance that makes attention to details and classy style its flagship.

Frag’s 2016 Collection is introduced by Square, the armchair designed by Christophe Pillet with its precise yet cozy outline. The concept consists in a hide-covered cube, empty yet comfortable thanks to various stuffings inside it and to two leather cushions: one for the seating and one for the seatback. The slightly curved shape of the armrests produces an enveloping effect, accompanied by the stylish, clean shape of this small armchair. Four thin metal legs make up its structure and represent its distinguishing feature, flinging and conveying lightness to this minimalist item whose only whim is the elegant detail of its metal feet.

Square is a novelty that integrates the wide range of seatings offered by Frag, confirming the company as the specialist of leather and hide seatings, which boasts an almost one-century manufacturing experience.

Apart from Christophe Pillet armchairs, the company previews the new bergère Mea that joins the collection of seatings presented last year and designed by Alessandro Dubini. The Mea family is defined by a strong, rounded, enveloping outline, designed for sophisticated domestic spaces as well as for offices and home working. The technical essence of Mea co-exists with its rounded shapes and its ladylike size, appearing as a modern, multifaceted bergère. In fact this armchair is able to combine Frag’s very own attention to aesthetics, technology and tailoring in one single product. The seatback is available in two different sizes and can be matched with different mechanisms and supports making it suitable for all styles and environments: a wheeled or wheel-less structure with four or five spokes, with or without mechanisms, with a light or full mechanism. The technical customisability of this seating, which is added to the upholstery solutions and the artisanal mastery of the company, make Mea perfect for warm living environments as well as for rigorous large offices.

Tradition, innovation, technology and contemporary design take shape in the 2016 collection with complete, refined living solutions. Frag’s range goes from seatings through several home environments, all characterised by timeless aesthetics: products that do not aim at following innovative trends, but to impose themselves as timeless classics.
